My deceased grandfather Edwin Frank Rigall had a circus sometime between 1900 and 1930.   It was the Rigall brothers circus.  He lived in Illinois.  Can anyone find information on this?    Peggy

There is a reference to Rigall & Co.’s Colossal Shows from a letterhead in 1890, but I have never seen a copy. The New York Clipper also notes in 1893 the Rigall & Co. New Consolidated Show opened in Grayville, Illinois; In 1894 the show opened in Grayville, Illinois May 14; In 1895 Rigall & Butler’s New Consolidated Shows opened in Fairfield, Illinois. In 1897 Rigall Bros. Twenty Five Cent Show opened in Graysville, Illinois June 1; The show owners were F. E. Rigall – in charge of tickets, H.C. Rigall – treasurer, J.C. Rigall – Superintendent of privilege, James D. Rigall Manager; In 1900 H.C. Rigall signed as general agent of the A. H. Reed Circus that was out fo Vernon, Indiana. You might try checking the local papers of these towns. JFP
